This feels like a girly week, and I’m in a pinkish mood (which may or may not have something to do with my increasing temperature due to recently catching a cold, again) so why not celebrate (the week, not the cold) with a pretty pink girly drink?!  Don’t mind if I do.  And while we’re at it, let’s combine two of the all time greats…Fresh Homemade Lemonade and Strawberry Smoothie.

Do they combine well you ask?  Why, yes!!  I’d say they combine gloriously, so pretty to look at and so very yummy in my tummy.  Pink from the strawberries, just lemony enough not to overpower the smoothie flavours, with some sweetness from the bananas, and thick and creamy from the Greek yoghurt.  It’s a match made in healthy smoothie heaven.

A few more smoothie recipes for you to try…My Blueberry Orange & Pawpaw Smoothie, my Chocolate Cinnamon Coconut Smoothie, my Mango Orange & Ginger Hot Smoothie (great for when you’re under the weather, like me!) and my Refreshing Coconut Pineapple Mango Smoothie.

Specifically for this week…I thought this Pretty Pink Lemonade Smoothie would be a charming little addition to your Mother’s day menu.  I’m sure any mom would be happy to see these gorgeous smoothies on the brunch table, and the recipe makes 2 smoothies so you might just as well enjoy the other one!!  Or make a big batch – one for everyone!

My poor mom has been somewhat neglected on Mother’s day for a few years now.  For one reason or another (hospital visits, moving country & the like!) she keeps receiving next to nothing on Mother’s day…don’t worry, we joke about it!  So this year, I feel like I had better do something extra nice for her, and of course my gifts always involve FOOD and my menu is decided, shopping has been done, and I’ll be sharing my recipes with you over the course of the week.

Until then, I had better go and make myself a healthy hot drink to fight off this cold, maybe my Mango Orange & Ginger Hot Smoothie!!  YUM and so easy to make.
