When the sun goes down in the heart of Guangzhou City, China, take a walk across the bridge in Haizhu Square and behold the glorious Pearl River Lights that form striking images stretching from building to building and as far as the eye can see!
The Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour is by far the best way to see the amazing beauty of the Franschhoek Valley, and simultaneously sample a few wines! Picturesque vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300 year history.
This was a one day safari near Durban, a mini game safari if you will. Which included wine tasting, cheese, chocolate truffles, chocolate brownies and caramel tarts (to name a few!), it was a delightful day of indulgence! Just 35 minutes from Durban, Rain Farm Lodge is a great day tour activity for all ages.
We visited lovely restaurants and coffee shops (and would highly recommend them), stayed at Gowrie Farm Golf Lodge, and discovered a whole list of fun activities and things to do in the area. We had A Misty Midlands Meander Weekend, and loved it!
As the oldest surviving botanic garden on the African continent and our City’s oldest public institution, a visit to the Charming Botanical Gardens Durban is one of the best things to do here! This is a fun, educational and completely free daytime activity for adults and children.
This was a mini vacay that was good for the soul…There’s something that majestic mountains and deep quiet do for a person that can only be matched by the constant rumble of rolling ocean waves. For me anyway, these are my top two sanity savers!
So last Sunday I headed north to the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains, otherwise known as the Underberg. The little town of Underberg is so quaint, I just love it there – around every corner there is something pretty to take in.
