This Almond Coconut Chai-Tea Latte is warm & spicy with a touch of sweetness.
Did I hear that right? A HEALTHY Almond Coconut Chai-Tea Latte?! YUP…It’s the kind of drink you’ll want every morning from now on, I know I do.
Because it’s that Yum. And because it’s that Easy To Make.
This Almond Coconut Chai-Tea Latte is made with coconut milk, milk, a Chai tea bag (caffeine free infusion), boiling water, a drop of almond essence and a dash of honey, with a dusting of cinnamon on top. The almond essence and the honey are optional of course, if you’d rather this be less of a sweet drink, you can opt for the simple version with just milk, Chai tea and boiling water. I personally love this latte both ways depending on the day.
I have had several Chai-Tea Latte’s this week…
…and I have exactly zero plans to stop this new found habit any time soon. It’s such a lovely alternative hot drink when you feel like something a bit more interesting than a plain old cup of tea or coffee. Also great because it’s caffeine free, bonus! (If that’s your thing).
It’s been one of those weeks where the weather changes by the day, sometimes twice a day, and sometimes hour by hour. Living on the coast takes some getting used to as far as weather patterns are concerned! The weather has been really sunny and warm (at moments, downright hot), WINDY, drizzly, and now today, cloudy and chilly. All in the space of 4 days. I feel a storm brewing!
You know those days when you get up and get dressed, not quite knowing what the weather will hold…only to find yourself out and about dressed ALL wrong because it’s suddenly started raining and the wind is SO chilly. Where’s that jacket when you need it!? Or you get dressed nice and warm and you get in the car only to boil half to death. Just me?
I am however, so thankful for the mild winters here, and I actually have nothing to complain about weather-wise!
For the first time since it started, I’m going to take a little time off from my home office activities to watch the semi-finals of the French Open this afternoon…Any tennis fans out there? I grew up playing tennis and I love watching a little Grand Slam action every now and then…Also, it’s nostalgic for me, as we always used to cozy up in the lounge back in Zim when I got home from school, with a hot drink, some fluffy slippers and watch the French Open and Wimbledon every winter.
Today I’ll be cozying up with my slippers and a cup of Almond Coconut Chai-Tea Latte, why don’t you do the same?

- ½ cup milk
- 1 Chai tea bag (caffeine free infusion)
- ½ cup boiling water
- 1 tsp honey (add more to taste)
- 1 - 2 small drops almond essence
- ¼ cup coconut milk
- Ground cinnamon for dusting
- Heat the milk in a microwave safe jug in the microwave for about 1 minute or until hot.
- Pour into a milk frother and froth. (If you don’t have one you can skip this step, it won’t make a difference to the taste!)
- Place the Chai tea bag in a mug and pour boiling water over the tea bag, allowing to steep for a few minutes. Stir in the honey and almond essence.
- Pour in the coconut milk, the frothed milk, and top with a dusting of ground cinnamon.
