BodyTalk is a unique healthcare system that helps you cope with and manage your stress levels. It is a simple, safe and effective form of therapy that allows the body’s energy systems to be resynchronised so they can function as nature intended.
This is a guest post written by my very good friend and BodyTalk practitioner, Kate Lawrie. I have been to her for several sessions and loved the experience – I am always amazed by how insightful, accurate and helpful her sessions are! I wanted to share BodyTalk with all of you in the hopes that you might find it useful.
Kate offers remote sessions, so wherever you are in the world, you can get in touch with her (visit her website below), and she can assist you with her BodyTalk expertise.
That’s enough from me, over to Kate:
Stress comes from resisting life. We have become a society consumed by instant gratification and a perception of needing to be “happy” all the time. We don’t want to feel painful and uncomfortable emotions such as sadness, loneliness, fear, anxiety and anger, so we bury them, we pop a pill to block them or we distract ourselves by numbing out with food or alcohol or mindless scrolling through social media, trying to fill the void.
However this perpetuates the emptiness and makes us feel even more unhappy.
Blocking these uncomfortable feelings pushes them deeper into our subconscious and the masks we wear in order to cope become bigger and more entrenched in our psyche, keeping us stuck in an unhealthy pattern and way of life.
This way of life eventually starts to take its toll on the body and shows up in various forms:
- Aches and pains
- Getting out of bed becomes difficult
- Tension builds in the shoulders
- Brain fog sets in
- Moodiness and irritability become the norm, and so the list goes on
By blocking the painful emotions we are also blocking our potential to feel the positive emotions: joy, happiness, love and excitement.
If we didn’t know what it was like to be sad we wouldn’t know joy.
The pendulum of life is always in motion and there will always be good times and bad times. The trick is to learn how to navigate the ups and downs so that life can flow through you rather than constantly fighting against the current and trying to swim upstream – it’s exhausting!
“There is only a stream of wellbeing that flows. You can allow it, or resist it, but it flows just the same.”
BodyTalk helps us to navigate the curve balls that come our way. It helps us to cope with pain and trauma, to let go of the masks and layers we have piled on, which in turn enables us to feel comfortable with who we are and all that we are meant to be and experience in life.
By allowing yourself to experience the full spectrum of life you create the space for potential. And in doing so, open yourself up to live life at your optimum.
A BodyTalk session is very gentle, non-invasive and healing. During a session, a form of neuromuscular feedback is used to connect with the body and locate where the imbalances are. The whole person and their whole story is taken into consideration, addressing the cause of illness rather than just the symptoms.
