Waterberry Coffee Shoppe And Forest Walk

They call it their little piece of paradise, and it certainly is a delightful stop-over. Huge glass windows and doors make up the entire frontage of this coffee shop and they open out onto a wooden deck, an evergreen forest and a small dam covered in ducks…Almost always covered in ducks. It’s a blissful spot!

I’ve been frequenting the Waterberry Coffee Shoppe for just over 2 years now, I used to live literally around the corner, and now I’m about an 8 minute drive away.  Very specific, I know, but it’s essential to have your timing right when a delicious healthy breakfast or a cheeky savoury muffin (cheese and onion – SO light and fluffy and tasty and YUM!! – highly recommend) is calling your name!

Here’s the cute little dam that the wooden deck looks over.  Ok, so the ducks were a bit shy when I took this pic, but I assure you, there are usually many ducks that love to splash around in this little puddle 🙂

There is a fun little play area for kids at the Waterberry Coffee Shoppe, and shady tables outside so you can sit nearby.

Plus there is a charming Forest Walk that is enjoyable for kids and adults!

You can expect:
  • A sandy trail that winds its way in-amongst the super tall trees that form an almost full-shade canopy overhead
  • Beautifully dense, bright green tropical foliage

  • Long bridges that veer off to the left and right, ending in little square viewing platforms – better bird watching spots I would imagine – have your camera ready!
  • Dappled light that is incredibly pretty, and even if it’s just for a few moments, you feel transported to another place, where all that matters is putting one foot in front of the other and taking in the loveliness that surrounds you.  That’s my kind of moment

As I write this I’m wishing I was sitting there on the deck looking out at the dam with the cute little ducks wading around, and sipping on a piping hot red cappuccino (my fave healthy hot drink at the moment).  Ahhh – Friday is not too far away…

Until then, I’ll be making my healthy hot drinks at home.

  1. Hi Sal, and thanks for this lovely write-up on The Waterberry. We have now been there, and enjoyed it so much.
The children’s playground is unobtrusively round the corner. The green outdoors are so close one can watch the birdlife at leisure.
And round and about the interior there are a lot of beautifully made articles for sale, from handmade preserves to gleaming hardwood cutting boards.
    A treat of an outing!
